Privacy Policy

This policy describes what information Vermillion County Court Docket may receive, why it is used, and when outside services process it. This is a private reference resource, not an Indiana court, clerk, or government agency.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

Text entered into an embedded search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and returns its results. Vermillion County Court Docket does not keep a local log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

If a visitor sends an email, the message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Data We Gather Automatically

Web servers and analytics services can receive routine technical information.

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser, device, and operating-system details
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring page or site
  • Date and time of each request

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies and similar tools help measure traffic and site performance. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, though some functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

Information is used only for routine operation and improvement.

  • Delivering pages and maintaining performance
  • Sending a requested search to the chosen provider
  • Understanding which content is useful
  • Finding errors and security problems
  • Supporting advertising where displayed

No Court-Record Data on File

Vermillion County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal case records. It publishes general directions to Indiana MyCase, Vermillion Circuit Court, the Circuit Clerk, and Clinton City Court. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the embedded search tools. Their own privacy terms govern a query, retention, sharing, and results. Review the provider's policy before submitting information because those practices are not controlled here.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Indiana courts, Vermillion County offices, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to measure activity or select ads.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be processed by:

  • A search provider handling a query
  • Analytics vendors measuring performance
  • Advertising networks serving ads
  • A government body responding to a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used. No internet service can promise absolute security, so transmission and storage always carry some risk.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when reasonably verified.

Your Data Rights

Applicable Indiana consumer-protection law may provide rights concerning personal data. Indiana's Access to Public Records Act, Indiana Code 5-14-3, and the Rules on Access to Court Records govern access to government and judicial records, not private visitor analytics. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Ask what personal information is held
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion where required
  • Object to or opt out of eligible processing

Updates to This Policy
